In my world

Today I spent a morning with a friend I have know for over 10yrs. Our lives have gone in different directions and we havent spent much time together while I have been raising my kids but somehow we just connect like it was yesterday! She enriches my life in a way no-one else can. From there I went to gym - am loving my new trainer, G, she pushed me to do a workout I had found online that I NEVER thought I could ever do. But she knew...and I did it. Twice. I do go workout with her with mild trepidation - our workouts are not for the faint of heart, but I like to feel almost dead otherwise I fail to see the point...she gets that. She is also helping me reach my goal with running so all in all - a good fit is what we are. Funny story: because I was going to be out all morning today I unblocked Disney XD as a treat for the kids. Well. You would swear that they had won the lottery! The excitement was off the hook. Amazing how something they totally took for granted 3 weeks ago is now s...

Officially All Grown Up

It happened some time last month. I wrote an email. She responded. And then it was delivered yesterday. All this stuff. That I paid money for. Money that I could have spent on shoes. Or lattes. The proof of my adulthood? My very own tupperware. *faint*

Me: Studies are going very well, apart from the fact that I made a decision to abandon Assignment 6 to spend time with my family instead. It has been a very interesting look into the world of online marketing and has shown me a whole world I have been lusting to understand more. This week we are looking at Social Media and Viral Marketing. Kids: All happy and settled. Honey has dealt with her fears/anxieties without the need for outside counsel. It was a real journey for the two of us to walk the road and I am sure it is going to be something that crops up from time to time. I have learnt so much about myself while trying to navigate her heart in this time. They are all thoroughly enjoying the new scrap book area - the computer has been laid to rest in favour of paper and glue. Bunnies: Baby bunnies off to pet shop today. Hooray, although they have given the kids hours of delight. Photo Shoot: We had a free photo shoot at fuji on Saturday and I viewed the pictures today. They are beaut...

Let's Talk Courage

Have you ever been called courageous? I have. And I have laughed it off. Truth be told, I am a coward. Many, many things scare the whatzit out of me. Most of them are things I make up in my mind and I hate that. I am very far from courageous or so I thought until I began to understand what courage really is. Courage can be asking forgiveness. Or courage can mean offering it. Courage can mean honoring your true feelings or openly accepting the feelings of another (no matter how uncomfortable those feelings are). Courage can mean asking a question. Or hearing an answer. Courage can mean facing the moment when it didn't turn out the way you had planned. Courage can mean allowing yourself to feel pain and then moving beyond it. There are infinite ways to be courageous. Even when we feel lost and powerless. A great truth to teach our kids. * based on and adapted from a list I found here

Randomness and Pontifications

Nee jislaaik. It is almost March! I swear time speeds up as you age. Really, tell me I am wrong? A few bits n pieces: 1. My hair is growing. Truly it is. I saw someone recently who hadnt seem me in some time and they confirmed my suspicion. Yay. 2. Lulu is loving school and has lots of friends across Gr1 and Gr2. She makes me smile with her enthusiasm for all things school - reading, writing and just the *correctness* that come with being a new school-goer. 3. Honey is still sukkeling a bit but we are making progress. She is still loving school but I am going to make an appointment with a pyschologist just to help her through this speed wobble but am fully anticipating that we see daylight very soon. She is a remarkable, insightful child - just need wisdom to help her deal with all that she processes. 4. We have another opportunity on the table from Australia. Anyone who has been reading me since 2007 will know that this is a regular thing. So now we process and ponder and pontificate....
