Will be back

HI guys, thanks to those who responded to my 'who is out there' call. Clearly many people ask for logins but dont actually check in.  Many of you mentioned you dont get the updates but the fact is that if a blog is private the updates will NOT sure in your feed. Many private bloggers send out reminders and I will maybe get to that someday but for now if you fly past once or twice or week there should definitely be new content. :-) I will be doing a recap of the week tomorrow as it has been a busy week .... but Friday is all meeee as my kids have playdates - every one of them - so my house is mine until 4pm... :-)

Randoms from this week

These two have a serious love/dislike relationship...F loves R and R disses F far to regularly. Sibling issues - dont we all have them from time to time? There have been some really unpleasant exchanges between my girls. I think all the attention being on Faith lately has caused Rach to act out. Very difficult keeping the balance and making sure everyone's tank if filled up the way they require. I have felt emotionally exhausted and utterly ill-equipped to deal with some situations but I do know that all will be well in time. Backstage! Her 'Mom! Enough with the camera' face. Note the cardi hanging off the shoulders ...this is one of those idiosyncrasies....she CANNOT wear a cardi properly...kinda makes me loopy. This little one is enjoying her downtime since the show ended. Plenty of arbing around, drawing, reading and rollerblading! Great to have no time-pressures as these really mess with her 'flow'. Enlargements for my 'FIVE' Album I finish...

Weekend In Pictures

Early dinner at Thorfynns; and booked my fortieth at this venue. Spent Sunday creating a new mini album - story-time! They make the BEST cosmos....i think...it was my first one! Soaking up some late afternoon sun on Thorfynns deck Can you say R-E-L-A-X-E-D? Reliving my youth with fun handclap games! Just so pretty is this drink.

Lets Talk Expressions

The show was simply amazing. I have to say it went well beyond my expectations. Here is a story...last year we went to watch {another local dance company} production and Faith was simply awed by the costumes, music and fanfare. The dancers were outstanding and en-point but I felt the choreography was often a bit raunchy for little people....but  Faith wanted to take up modern with {other local dance company}. Catching 40winks between matinee and evening show I was not fantastically happy as I knew how it would go down because I know the ethos of {other local dance company} but experience has taught me to pick my battles... and let kids learn for themselves. We let RPDC know how plans and moved on....not even 2 lessons down and Faith was adamant RPDC  was more her 'cup of tea'! {her words} Faith's dance teacher is one of a kind - a true theatre type - fiery tempered and dramatic but with a heart of gold and a true interest in the lives of her students beyond ju...

Opening Night is Finally Here!

Image
Tonight is opening night for Faith! Her first dance show.  The last two weeks have been particularly gruelling and I have been awed by her determination and perseverance. She is the youngest dancer to be in 3 different routines - she is doing 2 modern and 1 tap number. It has all been very secretive and I have not seen her in full make-up and costume so I cannot wait! I look back at this little person who used to pitch a fit at the mall because it was all just too overwhelming and am gobsmacked by how many balls she manages to keep in the air these days, with minimal fallout. Truly remarkable. I managed to sort through 5 boxes of junk in the garage this morning - I was so surprised when it took me only 20minutes!! I have been procrastinating for weeks... Next on the agenda is to sort out the paperwork / admin related to our personal stuff and the business. I think I need to procrastinate on that....until next week. >_< Extremely miserable in Cape Town today;...

MiniVacs and Online Shopping

Image
A spanner has been thrown in the works for our trip to Zanzibar....1Time flight carriers are folding which makes it far more tricky for us to ge there....looks like a flight to Dar Es Salaam and then a ferry across to Zanzibar....which could be kinda cool actually. We are looking at options. The other consideration is going back to one of our favourite places on earth - the Drakensberg. We spent our honeymoon at Sani Pass Hotel and it would be awfully nostalgic to revisit 20 years later! I have been hearing so much about Zando lately that I decided to bite the bullet and give it a try. Although I have been online shopping since I could type I have never bought clothing/shoes in this manner because it is such a mission to return stuff. Zando has been INCREDIBLE; I placed my order on Tuesday, received it yesterday and am returning it today. (They come and collect!) FREE deliveries and returns are key to a successful online retail store. Yesterday morning Flowrs and I ambled through...

Monday Musings

Image
Mondays and I have a love/hate relationship. I struggle with the shock of having to wake up, communicate and function normally by 7am BUT I make a concerted effort as I know that within an hour I will have my house All To Myself for 5 sweet hours. This morning, sun shine welcomed me and I needed to get outside! Thankfully I had a plan with a friend to do some gentle exercise (hah!) around Kalk Bay/Boyes Drive area. It was spectacularly beautiful and what a lovely way to catch up with a friend...and get the HR up a wee bit. Two birds one stone....a power hour indeed. Jacobs Ladder certainly gave me pause today....eish! This done I headed to my new favourite haunt, FLM*, to meet Farn for coffee (and I snuck in a mini brekky) Much swopping of weekend tidbits and a plan for a meaningful x-training session tomorrow. I do want to up the anti on my activity as Russ and I plan to celebrate our 20th anniversary in Zanzibar this year....goodness knows I need to fill out my biki...
