Christmas in June!

Image
It really does feel a bit like Christmas to me...so many wishlist items all arriving at once due to cirumstances all lining up in my favour! A few of you may remember my post earlier this year of when my camera got stolen on the beach. It was such a day for me - not just the loss of the camera but all the photos I had taken and not yet downloaded. I was gutted. That was January this year I think. I have since been using my cellphone camera for most photos. It has not been fun as I really like to take photos....like the rest of you! Insurance paid us out a couple of bob but not enough to get a decent camera ....so we waited and waited some more. KJ then told me about her G12 and 2 days ago I found it online at Arrow Photo ...for a bargain price INCLUDING and 8gig memory card! Wooooop - it arrives today sometime by courier. Canon G-12  This is simply a spoil from my man. I found it online at Nivo -  It’s GPS-enabled so it knows how far and how fast I run - It comes w...

Officially All Grown Up

It happened some time last month. I wrote an email. She responded. And then it was delivered yesterday. All this stuff. That I paid money for. Money that I could have spent on shoes. Or lattes. The proof of my adulthood? My very own tupperware. *faint*

Books and More Books

Image
My kids are voracious book lovers / readers. Honey devours books. She is like me in that she is a nighttime reader...she doesnt read during the day but often I will find her, torch under the covers, stealing minutes instead of sleeping. She also loves to *own* books. She likes to read them and then put them on her shelf. Sometimes she even writes a review about them! It is, however, an expensive hobby! I have had to look at other ways to find books for her to own. Enter 'Help the Rural Child' charity bookstore. What a treasure trove Hooli and I found in this store. We found around 12 titles for under R150 - now that is a bargain. I also went to a bookstore in our area that was closing and found a wonderful series of books for tween girls at R5 each. We now have a healthy library of our own and it should last us at least 6 months!

Shoes : The Spice of Life

Image
I realised my life has become exceptionally serious. I measured this by how many shoe blogs / statuses I have posted lately. Dismal really. Today I had coffee with a good mate and we decided to mosey through the shops ---- and voila the shoe genie came out to play. My Lady Gaga boots as Lulu likes to call them! They refer to these as biker boots...hmmm... a bit too tame for that name I think! I am almost, but not quite, ready to welcome winter - simply so my news boots can come out to play!
